Kings' Jeff Zatkoff: Leaves morning skate with undisclosed injury

Zatkoff sustained an undisclosed injury at Saturday's morning skate, requiring assistance on way his to the locker room, Elliott Teaford of the Southern California News Group reports.

Analysis:

The Kings will be in serious trouble if this turns out to be a significant injury. Stud backstop Jonathan Quick is out for several months due to a groin ailment, and Zatkoff, despite getting off to a terrible start with an 0-3-0 record and 4.37 GAA in three games, at least served in a backup role with the Penguins in the regular season of 2015-16, and still held a clear advantage over Peter Budaj, who's logged a grand total of three games since spending the 2013-14 campaign with the Habs. Look for the Kings to reevaluate Zatkoff in a timely fashion given the circumstances -- it's seems likely that he'll miss at least Saturday's game against the Canucks.
