Maple Leafs' Martin Marincin: Out Thursday with lower body ailment

Marincin is dealing with a lower-body injury and will miss Thursday's game against the Wild, Dhiren Mahiban of the New York Times reports.

Analysis:

It's unclear exactly when Marincin was dealt the injury, but it could have occurred during the Leafs' matchup with the Jets on Wednesday. It's likely that the 24-year-old defenseman is simply day-to-day, as there haven't been any reports of a major setback, but his status is something to keep an eye on heading into Saturday's matchup with the Blackhawks. In Marincin's place, Roman Polak will make his season debut on the Leafs' second defensive pairing alongside Jake Gardiner.
