Coyotes' Mike Smith: Heading home for evaluation

Smith (lower body) is heading back to Arizona to be evaluated by team doctors, ruling him out for Thursday's matchup with the Canadiens, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Smith is still considered day-to-day,but seems doubtful to rejoin the Coyotes for their next game, Friday on the road against the Islanders. Justin Peters was called up to serve in the backup role, but fantasy owners can likely expect Louis Domingue to get the bulk of the ice time until Smith is cleared to return.
