Flames' Chad Johnson: Lackluster in win Tuesday

Johnson was mediocre Tuesday, allowing three goals on 21 shots, but came away the winner in overtime against Buffalo.

Analysis:

After Brian Elliott got roasted for 10 goals in a pair of losses to the rival Oilers to start the season, Johnson has helped the Flames to three of a possible four points in back-to-back starts. Despite Tuesday's victory against his old Sabres mates, Johnson was far from great in this one, so it wouldn't be surprising if head coach Glen Gulutzan turns back to Elliott -- whom the Flames imported from St. Louis in the offseason to be their No. 1 -- in the near future. Then again, Johnson (a career backup) hasn't lost in regulation yet, so perhaps Gulutzan will continue rolling him out there. The Flames have two more home games against Carolina and St. Louis before hitting the road, so owners of both netminders will want to stay tuned to see who gets the nod for those contests.
