Analysis:

Lack will make his first regular season appearance in net for the Hurricanes after ceding the first start of the year to Cam Ward. The veteran netminder put together an admirable preseason effort, turning aside 45 of the 48 shots he faced over three starts. He should split time in goal with Ward throughout the year, but with the Hurricanes expected to be a subpar team, he may be in line for another mediocre-at-best season.
