Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Starting Saturday against New Jersey

Vasilevskiy will be between the pipes in Saturday's home matchup with the Devils, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis:

Ben Bishop was a little shaky in Thursday's season opener against Detroit, surrendering four goals on 32 shots, so the Bolts will turn to Vasilevskiy on Saturday in order to give their No. 1 goaltender some additional rest. Vasilevskiy is reportedly scheduled to receive 30 starts this season as Bishop's backup, so the duo will likely be alternating games more often than not in 2016-17. The young Russian netminder will make for an excellent play in daily contests Saturday, as he'll be taking on a Devils squad that averaged just 2.22 goals per game last season, last in the NHL.
