Kings' Jeff Zatkoff: Defending crease Friday

Zatkoff will make his first start for the Kings on Friday against the Flyers, Elliott Teaford of the Southern California News Group reports.

Zatkoff made 15 saves in relief Wednesday after starter Jonathan Quick (lower body) did not return after the first period. The 29-year-old backup joined Los Angeles over the summer after his Stanley Cup run with the Penguins, but was relegated to the third spot in Pittsburgh's depth chart. Now the netminder will be forced into a starting role against a familiar foe in Philadelphia.
