Red Wings' Petr Mrazek: Gives up five, drops rematch against Bolts

Mrazek was beaten up for five goals on 35 shots in Thursday's season-opening loss to Tampa.

Analysis:

The Wings lost to the Bolts in the playoffs last year, and this repeat featured Mrazek giving up a second-period two-goal lead by allowing four consecutive goals. To be fair, the Wings took a raft of penalties in this game, resulting in three power-play goals. After this uninspiring outing, it wouldn't be surprising to see Mrazek give way to Jimmy Howard against Florida on Saturday, but the young Czech is still the better bet to lead the Wings' netminding mix this year.
