Kings' Jonathan Quick: Designated for injured reserve

Quick (lower body) was put on injured reserve Thursday and is considered week-to-week, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

Quick left the Kings' season opener after just one period of action, and it appears his injury is significant. At minimum, the netminder will miss the team's next three contests, but a designation of week-to-week would seem to indicate it could be longer. Los Angeles will turn the reins over to Jeff Zatkoff, who came over from the Penguins during the offseason.
