Blackhawks' Patrick Kane: Struggles in season opener
Kane had a poor showing in Wednesday's season opener against St. Louis, failing to tally a single point while registering a minus-2 rating over 23:34 of ice time.
Analysis:
The Blackhawks struggled as a whole Wednesday evening, falling to the team that knocked them out of last year's playoffs by a score of 5-2 at home. There are bound to be some growing pains for Chicago early on this season as the team attempts to adapt to a youth-filled lineup that included six rookies Wednesday against the Blues. The reigning Art Ross Trophy winner will look to bounce back Friday against a Nashville squad he fared well against last season. Kane tallied five points (three goals, two assists) in five games against the Predators in 2015-16.
