Devils' Cory Schneider: Will start opening night

Schneider will guard the net for Thursday's opener against the Panthers, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

Analysis:

Schneider put up excellent numbers last season, as his 2.15 GAA and .924 save percentage were both good enough for fourth in the league. His win total has increased in each of the last three seasons, and it could rise once more if the rest of the Devils can keep up the pace.
