Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Starting against Hurricanes

Hellebuyck will start the season opener against Carolina on Thursday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Analysis:

Hellebuyck appears to have the inside track on the starting job, but could be in a season-long battle alongside fellow netminder Michael Hutchinson. His 2015-16 stats -- 20-15-5 with a ,918 save mark, 2.34 GAA and two shutouts -- are appealing, but with no clear delineation from coach Paul Maurice on the starter, the 23-year-old is a somewhat risky option in leagues that value volume.
