Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Ruled out for Opening Night
Crosby (concussion) will not play in Thursday's Opening Night contest against Washington, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.
Analysis:
Crosby took part in portions of practice Wednesday morning in a non-contact jersey. While the center is clearly making strides, a two-day turnaround after his diagnosis was always going to be a tight timeline. Given his concussion history, the Pens will exercise caution returning the 29-year-old to the ice. In the meantime, fantasy owners can likely expect Matt Cullen to slot into Crosby's spot on the top unit.
