Stars' Tyler Seguin: Progressing well ahead of season opener

Seguin (heel) may have missed every preseason game, but he's been a full participant in practice, and the Stars have not ruled him out for the season opener against the visiting Ducks on Thursday, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Seguin is rehabbing from a hairline fracture in his heel that surfaced while he was preparing for the World Cup of Hockey. Late last week, Stars coach Lindy Ruff said the talented playmaker is making progress. "We want to get him to where he's comfortable playing. He's moving close toward that direction," said the bench boss. Nobody is looking forward to Seguin's eventual return more than the man himself, as he's suffered from three different lower-body ailments since the end of last season (Achilles, calf, and heel).
