Kings' Jeff Carter: Plays first preseason game following upper body injury

Carter led the Kings in ice time (18:47) in his first preseason game Friday.

Analysis:

Carter missed the World Cup of Hockey due to an upper-body injury but a month of rehab seems to have brought the perennial point scorer to near full strength. The 31-year-old center said following the game, "I think tonight was more just trying to get the legs going...hopefully try to create some more plays and play with the puck a little more next game" LAKingsinsider.com reports. With three preseason games to go, Carter should be at full capacity by the time Opening Night rolls around Oct. 12 against the Sharks.
