Penguins' Marc-Andre Fleury: Set for heavy preseason workload
Fleury will see significant preseason minutes to prepare him for regular-season play. "We'll listen to (goalie coach Mike Bales) on what we think is best for Marc and getting him to his A-game," coach Mike Sullivan told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "We have a little bit of a game plan here going through the exhibition season where we can ramp Marc up so that when the regular season starts, Marc is in the best position to be successful."
Analysis:
With Matt Murray sidelined for up to six weeks, Fleury will get an opportunity to take over as the team's No. 1 goalie in the early going. Tristan Jarry and Leland Irving are the team's other current goaltending options, but other tenders may become available as teams cut down later in camp.
