Panthers' Roberto Luongo: Will start second game of doubleheader
Luongo has been named the starter for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Predators, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis:
Luongo spent the offseason rehabbing a hip injury but is ready to go for the start of the 2016-17 campaign. After struggling in his first full year with Florida, the netminder resumed his top-tier form last year as he went 35-19-6 including four shutouts and a .922 save percentage. Despite the stellar play, owners will want to take notice that the Panthers have stated that they'll use him less to keep him fresh this season, so a repeat of 60-plus appearances seems unlikely.
