Kings' Marian Gaborik: Expected to miss eight weeks
Kings general manager Dean Lombardi indicated Monday that Gaborik (foot) will likely miss eight weeks, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.
Analysis:
While Gaborik's play at the World Cup could have served as a means to get him into game shape ahead of the NHL season, it instead turned out as a disaster for both he and the Kings. After posting just 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) over 54 games last season, the veteran was looking for a bounce-back season in 2016-17. While that may still be the case, potential fantasy owners will need to factor in lost time to begin the season.
