Jets' Jacob Trouba: Requests trade from Jets

Trouba doesn't intend to join training camp until he's guaranteed a larger role on the team, and if that's not awarded, he's requested a trade away from Winnipeg, Frank Seravalli of TSN Sports reports.

Analysis:

Trouba's agent, Kurt Overhardt, has made it publicly known that this holdout isn't because Trouba desires more money. Rather, he's hoping for more playing time on the right side of the ice but admits that Winnipeg is already set at that position. Negotiations have stalled between the two parties, but obviously Trouba's decision to hold out should garner Winnipeg's attention to make a move.
