Penguins' Marc-Andre Fleury: Gains early season goaltending advantage

Fleury will go through training camp as the team's undisputed No. 1 goalie after Pittsburgh revealed fellow goalie Matt Murray suffered a broken hand during the World Cup of Hockey.

Analysis:

Murray is expected to miss 3-6 weeks, giving Fleury an upper hand cementing his role as the team's top tender -- at least early on. Fleury went 35-17-6 with a 2.21 GAA and .921 save percentage in 2015-16 before a second concussion sidelined him and left the door open for Murray. The Flower was instrumental in keeping Pittsburgh above water during the first half of last season when its offense struggled.
