Coyotes' Michael Stone: Will likely miss Opening Night

Stone (knee) is not expected to be ready for Opening Night, Jerry Brown of NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

Stone has still not been cleared to practice as he continues to recover from ACL/MCL surgery underwent in April. The 26-year-old has been skating and participating in puck-handling and shooting drills, but has yet to make the leap to full-contact activities. Stone broke out last season, recording 30 assists and a career-high 22:28 of ice time per game. Although his timetable has been pushed back slightly, there's still plenty of optimism that the playmaking rearguard can build upon his production from last season even if misses a handful of games in the early going.
