Maple Leafs' Stephane Robidas: Expects to be placed on injured reserve

Robidas (knee) is expected to be placed on injured reserve when the NHL season begins, Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun reports.

Analysis:

It's been a struggle for Robidas, who missed all of the 2015-16 campaign with a knee injury. Over the past five seasons, Robidas has played in more than 50 games just once (2014-15). Barring an unexpectedly quick recovery, the 39-year-old defenseman's career appears to be coming to a close.
