Hurricanes' Haydn Fleury: Expects to participate in training camp

Fleury (lower body) is expected to participate in training camp when it opens Friday, Mike G. Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

Fleury suffered the lower-body injury Friday after he fell awkwardly during an overtime win against the Rangers in the NHL Prospect Tournament. However, Carolina GM Ron Francis said, "It's nothing serious and he'll be back in camp on Friday ready to roll." Last season, the 20-year-old defenseman netted 12 goals and added 29 helpers in 56 games for WHL Red Deer. However, the 2014 seventh overall pick is expected to begin the season with AHL Charlotte.
