Sabres' Alexander Nylander: Makes mid-camp switch to center

Nylander skated between wingers Nick Baptiste and Hudson Fasching at Buffalo's prospect camp Sunday, reports the Olean Times Herald.

Analysis:

Nylander's elite skill is best served at center, where he has a little more room to operate, but playing center in the pros means developing a two-way game that takes years and plenty of hard work. Ryan O'Reilly, Jack Eichel and Zemgus Girgensons are currently penciled in as the team's top three centers, so if Nylander makes the team, he'll likely start playing on the wing first, just like Sam Reinhart. Even though Nylander was drafted from the OHL, he was loaned to them by Rogle of the Swedish League, making him eligible for AHL play for the 2016-17 season.
