Blues' Alexander Steen: Ready for season opener?

Steen's rehab from shoulder surgery has come along to the point where playing in the Blues' season opener Oct. 12 is a strong possibility, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Analysis:

Steen underwent surgery June 3, then used the World Cup of Hockey tournament as a goal to advance his rehab. While he couldn't get ready in time to help Sweden in the World Cup, the work he did preparing for the tournament has him in good position to play when the puck drops on Opening Night against the Blackhawks in Chicago.
