Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist: Escapes without major injury after puck to ribs

Lundqvist was hit in the ribs by a puck during a workout in preparation for the World Cup, but said it's "nothing serious" and doesn't expect to miss any action in the tournament, the New York Daily News reports.

Analysis:

Lundqvist will assume the net as the starter for Team Sweden in a warm-up for the regular season, when the long-time Rangers star will try again to reach for the Stanley Cup. At 34, Lundqvist's no spring chicken anymore, and though he's still under contract for years to come, it's hard not to feel the window is closing for him to bring home hockey's greatest trophy with the Blueshirts. But for fantasy purposes, his year-over-year consistency is solid gold, and yet another season of 30-plus wins with a save percentage of .920 or better seems entirely likely.
