Blackhawks' Marian Hossa: Exits World Cup of Hockey game with injury

Hossa exited Thursday night's World Cup of Hockey exhibition game against Team North America with a foot injury, Scott King of WGN Radio reports.

Analysis:

Hossa exited Thursday's contest after reportedly taking a puck to the skate and was immediately taken to the hospital for X-rays. Luckily for his owners, it appears as though the veteran winger was able to avoid serious injury, as his ailment is being described as a "bruise and not serious." Hossa may sit out Team Europe's next exhibition game Sunday against Team North America, but should be ready to return to action once the actual tournament begins next Saturday in Toronto.
