Panthers' Jonathan Huberdeau: Inks six-year extension with Panthers
Huberdeau agreed to terms on a six-year, $35.4 million extension with Florida on Tuesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis:
Huberdeau has impressed in his first four NHL seasons, racking up a combined 172 points -- including career highs of 20 goals and 59 points last year. Given those numbers, it's somewhat surprising that the 23-year-old was left off Team North America for the World Cup of Hockey, but fantasy owners can rest easy knowing he's out of harm's way for what's essentially a preseason tournament.
