Capitals' John Carlson: Ankle back at full strength

Carlson said his surgically repaired ankle is back at full strength, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Analysis:

Despite missing 25 regular-season games in 2015-16, Carlson returned and played throughout the playoffs, so the ankle was already healing quite well by the end of Washington's campaign. After a summer of rehab, the 26-year-old should be ready for the first game against the Stanley Cup champion Penguins on Oct. 13.
