Wild's Jordan Schroeder: Waived by Wild

Schroeder was placed on waivers Tuesday by Minnesota, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Analysis:

Schroeder is scheduled for an arbitration hearing that will still go forward if he goes unclaimed off waivers. Considering the 25-year-old played in a mere 26 contests with the Wild and averaged less than 10 minutes per night, he very well could pass through waivers and remain in the Minnesota organization. A midsummer waiver move sends a strong message that the team is not very interested in retaining the center's services long term.
