Sabres' Marcus Foligno: Inks one-year deal with Buffalo

Foligno signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Sabres on Thursday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.

Analysis:

Foligno was pretty solid in a bottom-six role with the Sabres last season, tallying 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) and 193 hits over 75 games. The 6-foot-3 winger will slot into a similar role with the Sabres in 2016-17, and should be similarly productive barring injury. There's a chance Foligno's numbers could improve with the Sabres offense looking to improve in Year 2 of the Jack Eichel era, but that's only if he gets to play with guys who can score. He may be a good source of peripherals but has minimal fantasy value.
