Jets' Joel Armia: Earns two-year extension

Armia signed a two-year, $1.85 million contract with the Jets on Thursday.

Analysis:

Armia's new deal is one-way, which puts him on track to assume a full-time role with the parent club in 2016-17. Last season, the big winger posted 10 points in 43 games with the Jets, as well as five goals and three assists in 18 contests with AHL Manitoba. Armia was the 16th overall pick (by Buffalo) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, so there's plenty of untapped potential. Consider buying low on the prospect before he becomes too popular in fantasy circles.
