Penguins' Phil Kessel: Will undergo hand surgery

Kessel will require surgery on a hand injury suffered during the opening round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, John Shannon of Sportsnet reports.

Analysis:

Kessel not only played in every single game during the postseason, but he also tallied 16 points in the 19 games following the series against the Rangers. There are no indications that the winger will miss any time, so fantasy owners can rest easy. Describing the 28-year-old's 2015-16 campaign as a breakout season might seem strange, but after struggling through several years of losing with the Maple Leafs, Kessel silenced many of his doubters and should be considered a top-end target heading into 2016-17.
