Lightning's Vladislav Namestnikov: Files for arbitration

Namestnikov officially filed for arbitration on Tuesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.

Analysis:

Because Steven Stamkos is back, Namestnikov might not see a huge boost in his fantasy value. Lightning liked what they saw from the 23-year-old on the ice in his first full NHL season. He ended up taking part in 80 games, posting 14 goals and 21 assists. Namestnikov filed for arbitration after the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on an extension, so they'll each present they're own case to a neutral third party at the end of July in order to come to a mutually beneficial deal. Negotiating shouldn't halt in the meantime, though, so there's a chance Namestnikov still ends up agreeing to a contract prior to the hearings.
