Blues' Jaden Schwartz: Files for arbitration
Schwartz officially filed for arbitration on Tuesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.
Analysis:
Schwartz dealt with an injury this past season, limiting him to just 33 games, while still posting eight goals and 14 assists. He played an even bigger role in the playoffs, making the Blues desire to keep him around even stronger. The Blues tendered him a qualifying offer late last month, but the sides have been unable to come to an agreement, so Schwartz filed for arbitration. Hearings are set for late July to be heard by a neutral third party, but that doesn't eliminate a potential deal from getting done prior to it.
