Canucks' Loui Eriksson: Commands six-year deal from Canucks
Eriksson agreed to a six-year, $36 million contract with the Canucks on Friday, ESPN reports.
Analysis:
There was initially believed to have been mutual interest in keeping Eriksson in Boston, but his new contract comes at an average annual value of $6 million and that's simply too much for the B's at this juncture. The Bruins were the fifth-best scoring team in the league in 2015-16, and they are strong at the forward spot even after parting with Eriksson. Look for the 30-year-old to slot right in with the Sedin twins in Vancouver, but understand that his fantasy value could take a hit given that the Canucks aren't nearly as proficient as his former club from an offensive standpoint.
