Wild's Tyler Graovac: Inks two-year deal with Minnesota

Graovac signed a two-year contract with the Wild on Thursday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Analysis:

The report also notes that the first year of Graovac's deal is two-way, while the second year of the deal is one-way. The structure of Graovac's new contract with the Wild suggests the team is comfortable with giving the 23-year-old forward consistent playing time in the NHL in the near future. The 2011 seventh-round pick has spent most of the past three seasons in the minors, and has played pretty well, amassing 87 points (39 goals, 48 assists) over 176 games with AHL Iowa. The 6-foot-5 center probably won't develop into a consistent offensive contributor in the NHL, but could become a solid bottom-six forward for the Wild. Graovac will likely split time between the AHL and NHL next season.
