Devils' Taylor Hall: Acquired by Devils in trade

The Oilers traded Hall to the Devils on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.

Analysis:

Edmonton is looking to build its team around Connor McDavid, and moving Hall clears a bit of cap space ahead of the July 1 signing period -- he has four years remaining on his contract with an average annual value of $6 million. Hall is a very nice acquisition for New Jersey, as he's a proficient scorer in the prime of his career. The 24-year-old recorded 328 points (132 goals and 196 assists) in 381 career games with Edmonton. The Devils ranked dead last in scoring last season, so Hall will be heavily counted on to reverse that trend.
