Sharks' Tomas Hertl: Inks two-year deal with San Jose

Hertl (knee) signed a two-year, $6 million contract with the Sharks on Wednesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.

Analysis:

This is a great deal for San Jose, as Hertl was one of the team's best forwards last season, setting career highs in goals (21), assists (25) and shots on goal (202) while earning an impressive plus-16 rating over 81 games. The 22-year-old winger was also a key contributor during the playoffs, notching 11 points (six goals, five assists) over 20 contests. Hertl's willingness to fire the puck on net and his top-six role with the Sharks make the 6-foot-2 forward a player worth owning in most fantasy leagues.
