Capitals' Tom Wilson: Tendered qualifying offer Monday

Wilson received a qualifying offer from Washington on Monday, Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Wilson will remain a restricted free agent, but could still sign with another team if he receives on offer that the Capitals are unwilling to match. The winger recorded career-highs in goals (7), assists (16), and shots on goal (99) this past season, which has should earn him a more substantial contract. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old was missing in action during the postseason as he registered a lone assist and 13 PIM in 12 outings. An up and coming talent for the organization, fantasy owners may want to keep an eye on his development to see if he continues to improve.
