Stars' Valeri Nichushkin: Tendered qualifying offer by Stars

Nichushkin will remain a restricted free agent after Dallas gave him a qualifying offer Monday.

Analysis:

Nichushkin ended the year on a 26-game scoring drought that dated back to March 4. Over that span, the 21-year-old snagged a mere four assists which drastically decreased his fantasy value as the season progressed. It appears that the Stars were impressed enough with his abilities, however, to submit a qualifying offer in order to retain his rights.
