Penguins' Marc-Andre Fleury: Expected to stay put

The Penguins plan to head into the 2016-17 campaign with Fleury and Matt Murray as the goalies, the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reports.

Analysis:

General manager Jim Rutherford fielded questions from reporters during the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft on Friday. There has been speculation that Fleury could be on the move after watching Murray take the lion's share of the playing time en route to a Stanley Cup win earlier this month, but Rutherford indicated that he'd like to start next season with both netminders. "That's the preference. That's been our preference since the end of the season. Unless someone really strange happens, that's what we're going to stick to," Rutherford said. Understandably, since the offseason is still in its infancy, the big boss wouldn't tell reporters who would be his No. 1 option in the crease next season.
