Capitals' Braden Holtby: Earns Vezina Trophy

Holtby won the 2016 Vezina Trophy on Wednesday at the NHL Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

Holtby, Ben Bishop of the Lightning, and the Kings' Jonathan Quick were finalists for the award. All three had outstanding campaigns in 2015-16, hence the nominations, but it was Holtby tying legendary goalie Martin Brodeur for the most regular-season wins in NHL history at 48. He's under contract with the Caps for five more years and will command $6.1 million annually.
