Jets' Michael Hutchinson: Agrees to two-year contract renewal
The Jets agreed to terms with Hutchinson on a two-year, $2.3 million contract extension Tuesday.
Analysis:
Hutchinson dazzled as a rookie in 2014-15, recording a 21-10-5 record, 2.38 GAA and .914 save percentage. However, he didn't perform nearly as well this past season, going 9-15-3 with a 2.84 GAA. Still, netminders Ondrej Pavelec and Connor Hellebuyck will become free agents after next season -- with the veteran Pavelec unrestricted -- so it was a wise move by the Jets lock up Hutchinson this summer.
