Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Awaiting MRI results
Malkin will undergo an MRI on his elbow to determine whether he will need offseason surgery, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis:
The results of the MRI could determine Malkin's availability for the World Cup of Hockey in September; however, all indications point to the center being ready to go for the start of the 2016-17 season. If the Pens hope to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, they will need the center back to full health.
