Penguins' Matt Murray: Can't close out Sharks in Game 5

Murray gave up three goals -- all in the first period -- on 21 shots Thursday in Game 5 against the Sharks, suffering a 4-2 loss.

Analysis:

The Penguins and their rookie netminder had a golden opportunity to lift the Stanley Cup on home ice, but the Sharks -- and especially goalie Martin Jones -- had other ideas. Murray ended up in an early hole, giving up two goals in the first 2:53, and even though the Penguins rallied to tie the game only minutes later, it wasn't enough, as the Sharks took the lead for good on Melker Karlsson's goal late in the first frame. Nonetheless, the Pens still carry a 3-2 series lead into Game 6, and it's hard to imagine them turning to Marc-Andre Fleury now when Murray's gotten them this far.
