Islanders' Frans Nielsen: All quiet on the contract front

Nothing has changed in the contract negotiations between Nielsen and the Islanders, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

In this case, no news is not good news, as the closer Nielsen gets to free agency, the more likely he is to sign with another team. If you thought that John Tavares didn't have anyone to play with last season, well, the Islanders could lose Kyle Okposo, Matt Martin and Nielsen in free agency. The 2016-17 version of the Isles could have a very different look from the one that lost to the Lightning in this year's playoffs.
