Bellows moved up to 10th on NHL Central Scouting's final rankings after slotting 12th on the midterm list. The son of former NHL forward Brian Bellows, Kieffer notched more than a point per game in the USHL with the National Team Development Program this season.

He's a power forward who can handle the puck and has a quick release. Bellows is also a strong forechecker who loves to win battles for the puck, according to Curtis Joe of Elite Prospects.

Bellows can overpower opponents physically, but also possesses an array of offensive skills.

He's committed to Boston University for the 2016-17 season.

The Islanders need to replace Kyle Okposo up front and they'll likely address that with a proven NHLer, but it never hurts to have more forward depth in the system, and Bellows should fill a top-six role in Brooklyn when he's ready.
