Penguins' Kris Letang: Takes maintenance day Sunday

Letang was not on the ice for practice Sunday but the team officially deemed his absence a "maintenance day," Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Analysis:

Letang didn't have a reported prior injury and the maintenance day indicates he should be good to go Monday. However, the situation is something worth monitoring to ensure nothing more comes of it on gameday. Unless otherwise noted, it's still best to assume he'll dress for the contest. Justin Schultz practiced on the first power-play unit in his place Sunday and would likely take his place should he skip the contest while Derick Pouliot would be the likely candidate to replace him in the lineup.
