Devils' Merrill undergoes shoulder surgery

New Jersey Devils defenseman Jon Merrill (shoulder) had surgery to fix the shoulder injury that ended his season prematurely, the team announced.

Analysis:

Merrill missed the last 10 games of the year, his second lengthy absence during the 2015-16 campaign. With a four month recovery time, the blueliner should be good to go for the start of next season. Considering he tallied a meager five points in 47 contests, fantasy owners are unlikely to start clamoring for the 24-year-old.
